Located on Southern California's Pacific coast within Los Angeles County, sits the stunning Long Beach city. It has been called the Aquatic Capital of the Nation and is the second busiest container port in the US. Long Beach was front and center of the crack cocaine epidemic in the 1980's. Though the issues around cocaine have been corrected somewhat, usage in the city still is still amongst the highest in the country.
The weather condition in Long Beach is great and can be classified as Mediterranean. The Pacific Ocean ensures that humidity and heat do not often overlap, so the warm heat is much more tolerable compared to other locations within the state. In the summer, low clouds and fog are very common early in the morning but it normally clears up by the afternoon. A cool sea breeze develops from the west and keeps the temperatures tolerable.
